Guys and Gals Mixer August 1

The second annual Guy and Gal Summer Mixer is set for August 1st. Hosted at the  Blue Star in downtown Vero Beach, don’t miss the chance to be a part of a fun evening full of good food and drink. What is the best part aside from the great networking? The presentation of nearly 200 backpacks to the Gifford Youth Achievement Center  for their annual back to school bash. A portion of each lunch, for a five month period, goes to benefit a local charity and a tangible need of theirs.  Pak Mail Beachside, local shipping expert, has even committed to filing each bag.

The event is from 5:30-7:30pm. A RSVP is a must. Email AnnaV@WhiteGloveUSA.net to confirm. Prizes are welcome.  As always, a big thank you to White Glove Moving & Storage and Regency Independent Living for your ongoing support.

Successful Food Drive Contest

Thank you to all the ladies who made our annual food drive contest. Collectively we filled half a small moving box truck!

A special thank you to the Sebastian Chamber for bringing in the most. Followed by Pak Mail Beachside and Becky Moon of Rodan & Fields.

All food went to the Treasure Coast Food Bank. Our goal was 2,500 lbs. of non-perishable food and we exceeded it. As a result, the total raised was 3,543 lbs!  Now that is a Successful Food Drive Contest!

As part of their focus, the GYAC offers an After School Education Program (ASEP).  With great success, it serves students in grades K-12, providing homework assistance in addition to tutoring and one-on-one mentoring.  For convenience, thanks to a partnership with the School District of Indian River County, students are brought to GYAC directly from their school and after a light snack and a short recreational time, transition into their classroom.  Better still, a Guidance Counselor is available on-site to discuss with students and/or their parents, issues that may have an impact on a child’s academic success. Students are able to discuss with counselor, individually and in groups, topics of interest to them such as bullying, peer pressure, and parental issues.
